Todays walk was one that was nearer to home for me. I started from Thorpe (just north of Ashbourne) and walked to Dovedale via Thorpe Cloud. It was quite cloudy while I was at the summit. I continued up dovedale via the high path above the dale. After awhile I descended back into Dovedale at Dove Holes and then walked to Milldale. Then climbing out of the dale once more I walked on to Shining Tor. There were good views up the dale from the summit.

I carried on towards the Tissington Trail and crossed at A515 (Ashbourne to Buxton road). After walking along the Tissington Trail for a short distance I turned off towards Parwich. There was a moment during crossing the fields when I was slowed down by some very interested young cows. Thankfully they did not follow me too far. I eventually arrived at Parwich Lees and then I took another path to Parwich. This is a very nice village with a good pub. My walk then took me across fields once more to the village of Tissington. One of the reasons for taking this walk today was because of the famous Tissington Well Dressings. I walked around the village to see all six well dressings before walking on to Fenny Bentley via Lees Farm. It was only a short walk then back to the start at Narlows Lane Car Park.
